Left Lower Eyelid Mohs Reconstruction
Description:
This patient was emergently referred to me following Mohs surgery in which the squamous cell carcinoma involved his entire lower eyelid. He underwent a 2-staged procedure called a Hughes tarsoconjunctival graft. The procedure uses part of the upper eyelid to reconstruct the back part of the lower eyelid and then a skin graft is placed over this. The eye remains closed for about a month, at which time the flap is taken down and returned to the upper eyelid.
Anesthesia:
IV Sedation
