What Juvéderm Products Are Available?

When it comes to beauty, our staff believes that minor adjustments can make a world of difference. With the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid (HA) currently on the market, Juvéderm’s smooth gel formulation flows smoothly under the skin and can reduce the appearance of facial folds and wrinkles by restoring lost volume in facial tissue. Juvéderm

Juvéderm is an injectable gel made from hyaluronic acid and is known for its smooth and consistent correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles. There are two different types of Juvéderm available: Ultra and Ultra Plus. Each has a different consistency. Juvéderm Ultra is thinner and more appropriate for fine lines and wrinkles, while the Ultra Plus is more suitable for deeper wrinkles and folds where more volume is required. Both Juvéderm options come pre-formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic, for enhanced comfort.

Treatment Areas Especially effective for the lower face, Juvéderm is approved to treat the nasolabial folds (sometimes called “parentheses”), marionette lines, vertical lip lines, and lines at the corners of the mouth. The number of syringes varies from patient to patient, but typically 1-2 vials is required per visit.

Duration Juvéderm is indicated to last for up to one year, however, your own body chemistry can dictate the longevity of the product and certain facial areas can vary in duration dependent upon their repeated movement. We have found that our more athletic patients or those who spend more time in the sun, break down their filler faster. However, with consistent and timely treatments, patients find that they can prolong the efficacy of the product.

Juvéderm Voluma

Looking for lift and contour to the cheek area? Juvéderm Voluma injectable gel is the first and only injectable to be FDA-approved specifically to address “age-related volume loss in the cheek.” While other fillers are ideal for smoothing lines and wrinkles, Voluma works to reverse the signs of aging by instantly lifting, sculpting, and contouring the midface region.

Juvéderm Voluma is uniquely formulated using Vycross™ technology utilizing a mix of low and high molecular weight HA which results in a crosslinked gel that is flexible immediately following the injection and is designed to last longer than previous fillers.

Treatment Areas As mentioned above, Voluma is formulated for injection into the midface, including the cheeks and cheekbone area.

Duration Voluma is an optimal treatment for natural-looking, youthful results that last longer than other HA fillers, with an indication of up to 2 years in the cheeks and cheekbone.

Juvéderm Volbella

Volbella, the newest addition to the Allergan collection of injectables, is commonly referred to as the “finishing touch.” This hyaluronic acid (HA)-based filler is formulated to add fullness to the lip, improve lip symmetry and reduce the signs of aging around the mouth. With a smooth, gel-like consistency, Volbella can transform the lip shape and appearance resulting in a subtle and natural result.

Treatment Areas Specially formulated for the perioral area, Volbella can soften the fine lines around the mouth, add plumpness to the lips, and contour the lip border.

Duration Volbella provides immediate correction and has proven results that last for up to a year. The product will eventually break down and be absorbed by the body over time. Repeated injections are recommended to maintain optimal results.

Is Juvéderm Safe For Everyone?

The good news about Juvéderm is that nearly all adults are great candidates. This FDA-approved formula poses only a small risk of side effects, such as redness and swelling, for those with severe allergies. Injection treatments take about 15 minutes to perform and are virtually pain-free. The addition of lidocaine (a local anesthetic) numbs all sensation, reducing your experience of the procedure to a feeling of mild pressure.

How Long Do Treatment Results Last?

Juvéderm is temporary but long-lasting. Results are immediate and last up to an average of 18 months after injection. During this time, it’s important to abstain from strenuous exercise, heat exposure, and alcohol.
