Amber Paprin, ARNP – Nurse Practitioner
Amber Paprin was born in Colorado Springs, CO and grew up in Connecticut. She graduated with honors from Florida Atlantic University with her bachelors in the field of Nursing. She earned a Master’s Degree at South University, where she graduated at the top of her class with a 4.0 GPA.
Amber has extensive nursing experience in critical care. She previously worked in Trauma ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach as well as in the Medical ICU at Boca Raton Regional Medical Center in Boca Raton.
Amber worked as a nurse practitioner in primary care and urgent care before starting her career in dermatology. While working in the field of dermatology, she gained an interest in managing and treating skin cancers as well as using non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation, including BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers.
Amber is one of a select few nurse practitioners in the country who specializes in oculoplastic surgery. She brings a keen eye for beauty to the practice.
Amber enjoys taking her two shih tzus on bike rides to the beach, snorkeling, and visiting her family in New York. She is married to Robert Paprin, and they have one daughter, Madelynn.
KIM – Practice Manager
Kim joined our practice in 2017 and brought with her 10+ years of experience in the healthcare industry. Her start in dermatology ignited a passion for aesthetics and provided a foundation for her transition to facial plastic surgery. She is driven by creating an exceptional patient experience and working collaboratively with our dedicated staff to support a dynamic and growing practice. Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Hofstra University and, along with her entrepreneurial mindset and administrative background, strives to continually improve all aspects of the business.
CATHY – Director of Patient Care
Cathy has been in the medical field for over 25 years and with Oculoplastic and Orbital Consultants for 10 years. As Director of Patient Care, she works closely with Dr. Connor and serves as a personal contact for your surgery scheduling needs. You will feel at ease with Cathy during your surgical scheduling process because she is attentive, compassionate, and thorough. We are confident that Cathy will ensure that all of your questions are answered, and all of your expectations are addressed. Cathy is a native Floridian and married with two children. She enjoys going to the beach and enjoying time with her family.
CAROLYN – Billing Manager
Carolyn has been with Oculoplastic and Orbital Consultants for 10 years, managing the medical accounts, collections, and insurance process for the practice. With 28 years of experience in the ever-changing medical billing field, she loves the challenge her career offers her. Carolyn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Medaille College in Buffalo with her BBA. Carolyn has extensive experience in medical claim submissions and denials and works hard to ensure insurance companies are taking care of your medical bills appropriately.
MARYLOU – Surgical Coordinator
Marylou has devoted the last 15 years to Oculoplastic and Orbital Consultants, scheduling surgeries for both Dr. Patipa, the founder of the practice, and continuing with Dr. Connor. Marylou’s warmth and friendliness shine through from the first time you speak with her as it is her priority to make patients feel educated and comfortable with their procedure. She serves as a liaison between patient and physician and will guide you through the surgical process from initial consultation to your final post-operative visit. Her thorough understanding of the insurance authorization requirements, visual field testing, and outpatient scheduling help to facilitate a seamless patient experience.
ERIN – Surgical Technician
Erin began working with Dr. Connor in 2012 after having the opportunity to assist him in surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. With a strong background as a surgical technician for over 6 years, she welcomed the opportunity to lend her expertise as his first assistant in the operating room. Her accuracy and consistency in surgical tool preparation and operating room protocol make her a valuable asset to our practice. You will see Erin at each office visit, and she will be by your side during your surgical procedure. Erin feels lucky to do something she really loves with such a dedicated team that cares so much about their patients. She is a loving mother to her son and enjoys trips to Disney with her husband and family.
TINA – Certified Ophthalmic Technician
Tina has been in the field of ophthalmology for almost 40 years and has devoted her career to the treatment of eyes. Shortly after receiving her certification in 1984, she chose to change paths and pursue surgical services as a Surgical First Assist where she thrived for many years in the operating room. In this position, she was able to participate in the development of innovative treatments and care in oculoplastic and orbital surgery. She is a great patient resource. Tina’s experience and knowledge allow her to accurately answer detailed questions about your condition and postoperative concerns. Her long-standing commitment to our practice (over 25 years) is a true testament of her passion for providing the highest quality of patient care.
JENNIFER – Patient Services Coordinator
Jen is the smiling face that greets all of our patients and your first point of contact to our practice. Her administrative background in patient care for the last nine years enables Jen to ensure a timely schedule, assist patients through the check-in process, and still find time to manage our social media accounts. Her efficiency and attention to detail ensure a seamless experience from your initial consultation to final post-op appointment. She is a true team player, helping everyone in the office in immeasurable ways. Jen is a native Floridian and enjoys spending time with her two children.
MARIA – Patient Services Coordinator
With over 15 years of medical office experience, Maria has been caring for our patients since 2003 when she joined our practice as a front desk coordinator. Her extensive knowledge of insurance enables her to assist patients with their benefits, referrals and any financial responsibility they may incur for their visits or procedures. During check-out, she is happy to answer any additional questions, schedule follow up appointments, coordinate diagnostic testing and advise patients of the surgery process. Maria’s compassionate nature makes her a true asset to both our practice and our patients who need timely appointments and require ongoing care. She is also our resident translator as she speaks both English and Spanish fluently.
